In Marshall County, we are fortunate to be able to accept prescription drugs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for proper disposal. There are drop boxes located in the lobby of the Marshalltown Police Department and the lobby of the Marshall County Sherriff’s Office. The drop box resembles a mailbox and is available for use by any resident. It is a safe way to dispose of unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs safely.
Dropping Off
Please remove all labels with identifying information from the bottles before disposal to help protect your identity and the privacy of your personal health information and make sure that the caps are secured tightly. Needles, liquid, biohazard items, and trash are not to be deposited into the drop box.
This permanent drug drop off box is a great asset to the citizens of Marshall County as a tool to help combat and prevent prescription drug abuse.
