The City of Marshalltown is seeking to fill a voluntary opening on the Board of Adjustment.  Applications must be submitted on the City of Marshalltown website https://www.marshalltown-ia.gov/FormCenter/Boards-Commissions-6/Application-for-Appointment-to-Boards-an-44. The Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial board that acts similar to a judge and has the authority to allow use of zoned property for a non-conforming use or extension of a non-conforming use as provided in the Zoning Ordinance. If an applicant disagrees with the Board’s decision on the Variance, Special Use or Appeals, they would appeal to the Court system.  The Board of Adjustment meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 5:00 PM. Five members are appointed by the Mayor, with five-year terms.
