The City Council has called a special election to fill the 4th Ward Vacancy. The election will be held on July 16, 2024. The filing period begins on April 24, 2024, and closes at 5 pm on June 21, 2024. Interested candidates must file completed paperwork with the City Clerk at 24 North Center Street. Appointments are preferred for filing, please call 641-754-5701 x1101 or email clerk@marshalltown-ia.gov to make an appointment. The term of this vacancy ends December 31, 2027.
Candidates must complete an Affidavit of Candidacy and Nomination Petition. You must get 75 signatures from signers in the 4th Ward. It is recommended extra signatures are received in case any are deemed invalid. Candidacy paperwork is available in the vestibule at City Hall, 24 N Center Street or you may print from our website https://www.marshalltown-ia.gov/758/City-Elections.
