SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD FEBRUARY 16, 2021 FOR FIRST WARD CITY COUNCIL SEAT
The City of Marshalltown will hold a Special Election for the First Ward City Council Seat on February 16, 2021. Interested candidates must file nomination papers with the Marshall County Auditor by Friday, January 22, 2021, at 5 pm.
Candidates must complete an Affidavit of Candidacy and collect signatures on nomination petitions. There is a minimum number of 25 signatures from signers residing within the First Ward. Copies of candidacy papers are available on the Secretary of State’s website: http://sos.iowa.gov/elections/electioninfo/CityElections.html.
Voters can start requesting ballots to be mailed by using this link https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/pdf/absenteeballotapp.pdf. The last day absentee ballots can be mailed will be February 5, 2021, at 5 pm. The last day for in-person absentee voting will be Friday, February 12, 2021, at 5 pm. Polls will be open Tuesday, February 16, 2021, from 7 am to 8 pm at the Marshalltown Public Library, 105 W Boone Street, Marshalltown, IA for First Ward voters only.
