Currently the City combats issues with "flushable" products almost every day. They are NOT biodegradable! They collect in the sanitary sewer pipes and manholes clogging not only City sewer pipes and manhole structures-they also clog your neighbors pipes. An easy repair job that includes open trench pipe repair to clear these on a private sewer will easily reach thousands for the homeowner. And then the problem exacerbates when they reach the WPCP pumps causing malfunctions and expensive repairs which take money and cause down-time. Things to NOT put down your drains would be wipes(even though they say "flushable"), paper towels, feminine hygiene products, grease from food, food, condoms, any types of paint, chemicals, etc.
