Today, August 28th, a new traffic signal at 6th Street and High Street will become operational. This signal will assist emergency responders traveling west from the new Police and Fire facility.
The signal will only stop north south traffic on 6th Street when an emergency response vehicle approaches from High Street. Regular traffic will continue to obey the stop sign approaching 6th Street from High Street. The signal will not detect commuter cars, only emergency response vehicles.
The signal is part of the new Police and Fire facility constructed at 909 South 2nd Street.
