News Flash

State Street and other areas of downtown Marshalltown will be transforming into a one-of-a-kind concert venue starting on Friday, July 5th.  All of this work is in preparation for a concert to benefit the Veterans Memorial Coliseum renovation featuring Jason Brown.  A map of the concert area showing street and alley closures and parking can be found here.

STREET CLOSURES

July 5, 2019 at 12:00PM

·        State Street CLOSED from 1^st Street to Center Street

·        Parking Lot T and Coliseum Parking Lot CLOSED

July 6, 2019 at 12:00PM

·        North Center Street, from Main to Grant Street CLOSED

·        State Street, from 1^st Street to 1^st Avenue CLOSED

All on-street parking and alley access will be unavailable to the public during the closure period.  Streets will open in the early hours of Sunday, July 7th.  

PARKING INFORMATION

STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS

Designated parking with the purple tag allowed in the following parking lots:

·        Parking Lot A (12 E. State Street)

·        Parking Lot D (100 Block of 1^st Street, west side)

·        Parking Lot F (100 Block of 1^st Street, east side)

POLICE OPERATIONS

The Marshalltown Police Department will be utilizing the 10 Block of North Center Street for all operations beginning at 12:00PM on Saturday, July 6^th.  No other vehicles will be allowed in this area or the City Center Parking Lot.

PUBLIC/EVENT PARKING

Those attending the event are encouraged to park in a number of public parking lots located within 2-3 blocks of the event.  UnityPoint Health has designated their parking lots on the north and south sides of East State Street between 3^rd and 4^th Avenues as event parking.

ADA parking will be available by going to the barricade at Grant Street and North Center Street and showing an ADA parking tag or having an ADA parking license plate.
