Eide Bailly LLP today released an audit report on the City of Marshalltown, Iowa, for the year ended June 30, 2017.
Revenues for the City (excluding its component units) for the year ended June 30, 2017, totaled $38,099,402 which included $10,156,476 in property taxes; $435,098 for tax increment financing, $9,970,369 from grants and contributions; $10,405,266 from charges for service; and $189,852 from unrestricted investment earnings.
Expenses for the year totaled $35,293,672. Expenses included $10,713,027 for public safety, $8,553,684 for public works, and $3,654,545 for culture and recreation. Expenses for business-type activities totaled $7,517,186.
Revenues for the component units (Marshalltown Water Works and Marshalltown Convention and Visitors Bureau) for the year totaled $4,460,002, which included $4,450,659 from charges for service, and $9,343 from unrestricted investment earnings.
Expenses for the component units for the year totaled $3,764,439.
