Beginning Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 7:00 am, the city-wide burn ban is lifted and normal open burning regulations will apply. As a reminder, the regulations for open burning include:
- Hours allowed are 7:00 am to 7:00 pm or until dark, whichever occurs first, Monday thru Friday.
- Hours allowed are 7:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday.
- No burning is allowed on Sundays or City holidays.
- Materials that may be burned are limited to natural vegetation. Absolutely no garbage!
- If burning on the ground, a minimum distance of 50 feet from a building must be maintained.
- If burning in a covered container, a minimum distance of 15 feet to a building must be maintained.
- The fire must be constantly supervised by a competent person, equipped with a means of extinguishment.
Please use good judgment when it comes to wind direction and speed to avoid creating a nuisance.
