The Marshalltown Police Department announces the retirement of two of our Police K-9 Officers.
K-9 Raji and K-9 Jordy will retire from active duty on December 31, 2020. Both have had successful careers that resulted in countless felony apprehensions, drug and money seizures, building searches, locating lost people, and public demonstrations. Both dogs were certified through the United States Police Canine Association for Patrol, Tracking, and Narcotic Detection. K-9 Raji, a German Shepard/Belgium Malinois cross, began his career with our agency in 2013. K-9 Jordy, a German Shepard/Belgium Malinois cross, began his career in 2014. Both have served the community of Marshalltown with great success and both have been recognized by the United States Police Canine Association for their training and service. Following their retirement, both dogs will continue to live with their respected handlers, Lieutenant Kiel Stevenson (Raji) and Sergeant Tom Watson (Jordy). The Marshalltown Police Department appreciates the service, dedication, and contribution that K-9 Raji, K-9 Jordy, and their handlers have made in helping make Marshalltown a safer community.
