On Thursday, August 13, 2020, at approximately 4:49 AM, officers with the Marshalltown Police Department were dispatched to the Ay Caramba restaurant at 12 N 1st Street regarding a burglary in-progress.
Officers arrived on scene and made contact with MARCOS BRANDON RICO - age 21 of Marshalltown, as he exited the building. Further investigation revealed MARCOS had been actively burglarizing the business prior to police arriving.
Two juveniles were contacted while they waited inside a parked car near the business. It was determined the two juveniles actively participated in the burglary.
MARCOS was arrested and charged with the following: 1) Burglary – 3rd degree, a class D felony. 2) Criminal Mischief – 5th degree, a simple misdemeanor. Marcos was transported and booked into the Marshall County Jail.
