On February 29th, 2020 at approximately 6 p.m., Officers from the Marshalltown Police Department responded to a report of an assault in the 500 Block of North 15th Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a 17-year-old victim who stated that she was assaulted by a male subject. The male was not located in the area.
During this investigation, Officers were able to locate the male with assistance from the West Des Moines Police Department in West Des Moines, Iowa. Additional information was obtained and the below subject was taken into custody without incident.
Officers arrested: Tyshir Jahki Collins - Age 18, Des Moines, Iowa
Robbery 1st Degree – Class “B” Felony
Willful Injury – Class “D” Felony
Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon – Aggravated Misdemeanor
Assault Causing Bodily Injury – Serious Misdemeanor
Mr. Collins was taken to the Marshall County Jail. This incident remains under investigation.
