Due to two resignations, there is a vacancy on the Solid Waste Commission. The Marshall County Landfill is owned and operated by The Solid Waste Management Commission of Marshall County which includes the cities of Albion, Clemons, Collins, Colo, Ferguson, Gilman, Haverhill, Laurel, LeGrand, Liscomb, Marshalltown, Melbourne, Rhodes, St.Anthony, State Center, Whitten and Marshall County at large. The Solid Waste Commission of Marshall County has semi-annual meetings in the spring and fall, usually in May and November. The attendance and participation at these meetings is essential to the operation of the Commission and directly affects the ability to serve the Solid Waste needs of your committee. Members are compensated and receive $50 for each meeting. In order to represent the City of Marshalltown, you must be a resident of the City of Marshalltown.

Applications are reviewed by the Mayor. Appointments are made by the Mayor and ratified by the Council. The State of Iowa requires gender neutral board composition.
