Between the dates of March 4, 2019 and March 10, 2019, multiple burglaries to local businesses and to a private residence on the north west side of Marshalltown were reported to the Marshalltown Police Department. Through the prompt reporting of business personnel and the resident, the thorough response of Marshalltown Police Department Patrol Division, and the investigative assistance of the Marshalltown Police Department Detective Division, an arrest has been made.
On March 13, 2019, Dustin Reed Susie, 32 years old from Marshalltown, was charged with six counts of Burglary in the 3rd Degree-a Class D Felony- for burglarizing the following locations:
Haley’s Deli Barbeque and Catering
Godfrey Motors
Sally Beauty Supply
OJ’s Diner
Private Residence
McCall Monuments
Dustin Susie remains in the Marshall County Jail.
A class “D” felony is punishable by up to five years' imprisonment and a fine of $750 to $7,500. (Iowa Code § 902.9.) A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
