On Sunday, February 10, at 11:05 a.m., the Marshalltown Police Department received a report of an unattended death at a private business located at 19 South Center Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased, female inside Suite #6, Center Cuts & More. The cause and manner of this death has not yet been determined and an investigation is ongoing. Ginger N. Carter, age 39, of Marshalltown has been identified as the deceased. An autopsy has been scheduled for February 11. There are no public safety threats associated with this investigation.
The Marshall County Attorney’s Office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Crime Lab and the Marshall County Medical Examiner are assisting the Marshalltown Police Department with this investigation.
