MEDIA RELEASE: 09/24/25
AUTHORITY: Clayton Ender, Assistant Housing and Community Development Director
The City of Marshalltown is inviting residents, business owners, and community stakeholders to take part in an upcoming Community Roundtable on October 14 at 5:00 pm at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum (20 W. State Street) as part of the process to create the City’s next Comprehensive Plan.
The Comprehensive Plan will serve as a roadmap for Marshalltown’s growth and development over the next 10 to 20 years. It will guide decisions on land use, housing, infrastructure, parks, economic development, and community amenities. Community input is a vital part of this process, ensuring that the plan reflects the values, priorities, and aspirations of the people who live and work in Marshalltown.
The October roundtable will provide an opportunity for residents to:
- Share ideas about Marshalltown’s future vision.
- Discuss priorities for neighborhoods, downtown, and community amenities.
- Provide feedback on housing, transportation, and economic development needs.
- Learn more about the planning process and timeline.
“This is the community’s plan,” said City Administrator Carol Webb. “We want to hear directly from residents and stakeholders about what Marshalltown should look like in the future and how we can make our city an even better place to live, work, and invest.”
Details for the roundtable, include:
Date: Tuesday, October 14
Time: 5:00 – 6:30 PM (presentation starts at 5:30)
Location: Veterans Memorial Coliseum (20 W State Street)
