On September 11, 2025, the Marshalltown Community School District will be hosting its Boys and Girls Invitational Cross-Country meet at Marshalltown Community College. We are excited to host this event as it brings hundreds of runners, families, and observers to our community. With the increase in activity traveling to and from this event, we anticipate traffic to be highly congested between the intersections of Iowa Avenue and South Center Street (Highway 14) and the intersection of South Center Street (Reed Avenue/Highway 14) and 250th Street. Traffic will also see congestion and significant delays in all directions at the intersection of Highway 30 and South Center Street (Highway 14). Projected delays are expected to begin at approximately 4:00 p.m. and continue until approximately 7:00 p.m.
If you must travel in these areas during the designated times, please be patient. Additional Police Officers will be in the area conducting traffic control and ensuring emergency traffic to and from Unity Point Health is given priority.
We ask those who can make alternative travel arrangements to avoid this area, helping to eliminate unnecessary vehicle traffic.
