***UPDATED on December 6, 2024 at 4:40pm with new suspect identity.***
On Friday, December 6, 2024, at 4:53am, officers from the Marshalltown Police Department responded to the old hospital site, located in the 10 block of South 4th Avenue, after receiving a report of trespassing at this location. Upon arrival, officers determined that a burglary and theft had occurred at this location. Police subsequently located and stopped a vehicle in the area of East Madison Street and South Center Street. This vehicle was occupied by four adult males and had property that was determined to be stolen from the old hospital site. Investigation of this crime revealed the suspects were stealing copper pipe from the old hospital building. As a result of this investigation, the following people have been arrested.
Darnell Philip Johnson, age 56, of Des Moines
- Burglary 3rd Degree
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of Burglar Tools

Mo Say, age 38, of Des Moines
- Burglary 3rd Degree
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of Burglar Tools

Moo Soe, age 28, of Des Moines
- Burglary 3rd Degree
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of Burglar Tools

Further investigation has revealed that one of the arrested suspects provided a false name and identity at his arrest. Peet Min, age 32, of Des Moines falsely identified himself as Aung Yo Trae. Min has outstanding arrest warrants in Polk and Dallas counties. Additional charges against Min are pending as a result of his providing false information to law enforcement.
Peet Min has been charged with:
- Burglary 3rd Degree
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of Burglar Tools

All of the suspects arrested during this investigation were transported to the Marshall County Jail. This investigation is continuing. The Marshalltown Police Department was assisted at the crime scene by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
