On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 1:01pm, the Marshalltown Police Department responded to a private residence in the 1000 block of East Olive Street to investigate a burglary. Upon arrival, officers received information from the victim about a burglary and theft crime that was believed to have occurred earlier in the day on August 14.
Following an extensive investigation of multiple burglary incidents, several suspects were developed. On November 6, 2024 the Marshalltown Police Department arrested Hunter David Clark for his involvement in these burglary cases.
On November 13, 2024 Ashton Mason Clark (20) of Marshalltown was also arrested for these incidents. Ashton Clark was charged with the below criminal offenses.
- Theft 1st Degree (Class C Felony)
- Theft 2nd Degree (Class D Felony)
- Burglary 3rd Degree (Class D Felony) 4 Counts
- Theft 5th Degree (Simple Misdemeanor)

Arrest Warrants have been issued for Giles Evan Richard Clark (50) of Marshalltown in regards to this same investigation. Giles Clark is wanted for the below criminal charges.
- Theft 1st Degree (Class C Felony) 2 Counts
- Possession Firearm as a Felon (Class D Felony)
- Burglary 3rd Degree (Class D Felony)
- Possession Burglar Tools (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
