On Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 5:45am, public safety personnel responded to the area of North 12th Avenue and Bromley Street in Marshalltown for a medical emergency. The Marshall County 911 Communications Center received a call about a person found in the roadway on North 12th Avenue with serious injuries. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found an unresponsive, adult male, in the roadway. The male had visible traumatic injuries. Immediate medical care was provided to the injured male. The male was subsequently transported to the Marshalltown hospital and was later transferred to a medical facility in Des Moines. The male has died. The identity of the male is not being released at this time pending family notifications.
The Marshalltown Police Department, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, are conducting a death investigation. The cause and manner of death are not known at this time.
