Construction will be kicking back off on the State Street Reconstruction project with road closures starting this Sunday, March 17th, 2024. Please see the attached exhibit with the proposed schedule and anticipated road closures. As always with construction, this is subject to change with weather and hopefully minimal (or no) underground surprises!
A few details to note:
- The sidewalk and access to the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum & Marshalltown City Hall (Park & Rec Entrance) along the north side of these buildings will remain open as long as possible during “Stage A”. When possible, a gravel path will be available for “use at your own risk” between Public Parking Lot T and the Park & Recreation Entrance to City Hall / Council Chambers.
- Access to Public Parking Lot J (locally known as the City Centre Lot) and Golden Land Grocery will be through the alley with the entrance from N 1st Ave.
- Access to Maria’s Tacos will be through the alley with the entrance from N 1st Street.
- Access to other businesses and parking lots will be maintained on side streets and alley access.
