On January 11, 2024, at approximately 10:47am an officer with the Marshalltown Police Department made a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 1500 block of South 2nd Avenue. During the traffic stop the officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a stolen firearm and controlled substances.
Skyler Wright, age 18, of Marshalltown, was arrested for the below listed criminal offenses:
- Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana (Class D Felony)
- Possession of Controlled Substance (Serious Misdemeanor)
- Person Ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons (Serious Misdemeanor)
- Possession of Stolen Property (Simple Misdemeanor)
- Careless Driving
