On Saturday, September 30, at 7:26pm, Marshalltown police officers responded to 402 North 12th Avenue after a in progress burglary was reported at this location. Upon arrival, officers met with a 23-year-old female who reported a man had forcibly entered her residence and made threats of physical violence while demanding money. The victim was not injured. Officers also located the suspect at this residence. Following an investigation, the suspect was arrested.
Ricardo Velez Jr., age 31, of Marshalltown has been charged with Burglary in the Second Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Velez Jr. was taken to the Marshall County Jail and he remains in custody.
