On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 11:09pm, law enforcement attempted to serve an arrest warrant at 519 North 1st Street in Marshalltown. Officers were looking for Ramon Alexis Feliciano Nieves, age 40, of Marshalltown. It was determined that Mr. Feliciano Nieves was at this location but was uncooperative with officers as they attempted to bring him into custody. Mr. Feliciano Nieves entered an apartment that was not his and attempted to hide.
Mr. Feliciano Nieves has a history of assault and weapons offenses. Crisis negotiators from the Marshalltown Police Department were called in to assist with this incident. The Marshalltown Police Department tactical team was also brought in to assist with this high-risk arrest warrant service. Mr. Feliciano Nieves was ultimately located and arrested at 1:39am on September 6.
Mr. Feliciano Nieves was arrested on an outstanding warrant for the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
- Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon (3 Counts)
- Assault Causing Bodily Injury (2 Counts)
Additionally, Mr. Feliciano Nieves was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Offense.

Mr. Feliciano Nieves was arrested and was taken to the Marshall County Jail where he is being held on a $19,000.00 cash only bond pending further court proceedings. This investigation remains active. No injuries were reported during this incident.
The Marshalltown Police Department was assisted during this incident by the Marshall County 911 Communications Center, Marshalltown Police Department K-9 Unit, Marshalltown Police Department Crisis Negotiation Team, Marshalltown Police Department Special Weapons & Tactics Team, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Marshalltown Fire Department, and Unity Point Ambulance Service.
