On Sunday, August 6, 2023, at 5:24pm, Marshalltown police officers responded to the 1500 block of West Main Street after receiving a report about a package being stolen off of the front porch of a private residence. An investigation of this theft revealed that a suspect stole the package and then got into a small, blue vehicle with a hatchback. A vehicle matching this description was later spotted in Melbourne. The suspect vehicle was discovered to be stolen. Marshall County deputies stopped this vehicle. The occupants were identified and the stolen package was found inside the vehicle. The below listed subjects were arrested and were taken to the Marshall County Jail.
Jamee Sue Alexander, age 34, of Des Moines was charged with theft in the second degree.
Jasmine Renee Atkins, age 25, of Council Bluffs was charged with theft in the second degree.
