On Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 7:15pm, the Marshalltown Police Department arrested Ernesto Garcia-Rodriguez, age 53, of Marshalltown. Mr. Garcia-Rodriguez was arrested at 609 West Linn Street. Mr. Garcia-Rodriguez has been charged with two counts of Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree and one count of Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree. Mr. Garcia-Rodriguez is being held in the Marshall County Jail on a cash only bond of $100,000.00.
Arrest warrants were originally issued for Mr. Garcia-Rodriguez on August 3, 2020. These criminal charges stem from an investigation that began on July 13, 2020 involving allegations that Mr. Garcia-Rodriguez sexually abused a child under the age of twelve during a period beginning in 2008 and ending in 2013. Additional allegations are that Mr. Garcia-Rodriguez sexually abused a child age fourteen to fifteen during a period beginning in 2015 and ending in 2016.
