This past Saturday Mayor Greer unveiled the new caboose sign at Mega-10 Park in honor of the former Mayor, Stan Brown, who was instrumental in bringing the caboose to the park with coordinated help from the Union Pacific Railroad. The caboose was moved to Mega-10 Park with the help of Union Pacific workers on October 10, 1996, and repainted as a focal point of the park.
Stan Brown contributed to the economic well-being of Marshalltown through his time served as Mayor of Marshalltown from 1984 to 1991. The City of Marshalltown is honored to be a part of this recognition with his family.
