On March 6, 2021, at 9:14 am, Mitchell Family Funeral Home reported a burglary and theft which occurred sometime in the early morning hours of March 6, 2021. Using evidence from the scene of the burglary, video surveillance from the funeral home, as well as video surveillance from surrounding businesses, a suspect was developed.
On March 30, 2021, Officers arrested Jimmy Allen Austgen (age 52) of Albion, IA for burglary 3rd degree and theft 3rd degree. Austgen was arrested at the Marshall County Jail where he is being held on burglary charges from March 11, 2021. Austgen will have his initial appearance on the new burglary and theft charges on March 31, 2021.
