On December 3rd, 2024, the Marshalltown Police Department began an investigation into the report of a possible embezzlement. After financial audits and a four-month long investigation, charges were filed for theft.
On April 21st, 2025, Rachel Nelson-Loupee, 48, of Marshalltown, turned herself in at the Marshall County Courthouse on the following charge:
Theft 1st Degree, Embezzlement, a Class “C” Felony
(A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.)
