Coliseum Renovation Receives $100,000 Grant

Coliseum

The Native Fund is the newest Medal of Honor contributor to the renovation of the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, granting $100,000 to the project.  This grant leaves only $87,000 left to raise, putting the fundraising efforts at 93.5% of the $1.35 million fundraising goal.  “A grant of this amount is completely unexpected and could help us meet our goal much sooner than expected,” said Geoff Hubbard, Parks and Recreation Director.  “We are so thankful to the Native Fund for thinking of helping in Marshalltown following the tornado and providing that help to the Coliseum renovation.”

The announcement comes on Giving Tuesday, which is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world on December 3, 2019, and every day.  The Coliseum Fundraising Committee is asking that donors think of the renovation of the Coliseum as a way to give on December 3rd and beyond.  Online donations can be made at www.mtowncoliseum.com or by sending a check to the Veterans Memorial Coliseum Fund, 24 North Center St., Marshalltown, Iowa  50158.  All donations are tax deductible.
