Marshalltown Shooting Investigation - UPDATE

On Sunday, April 14, 2019, at approximately 3:48 a.m., public safety personnel responded to the 400 block of Melody Lane after a shooting was reported at this location. Three adults with gunshot wounds were taken to Unity Point Hospital in Marshalltown. All three victims were subsequently transported to a medical facility in Des Moines.

An arrest has been made in connection with this incident. Trevion Devante Hardin, age 22, of Marshalltown has been booked into the Marshall County Jail. Hardin has been charged with the following:

Attempt to Commit Murder – Three Counts (Class B Felonies)
Willful Injury – Three Counts (Class C Felonies)
Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon – Three Counts (Class C Felonies)
Reckless Use of a Firearm – Three Counts (Class C Felonies)
Going Armed with Intent – One Count (Class D Felony)

The investigation of this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information concerning this incident should contact the Marshalltown Police Department at 641.754.5725. Additionally, anonymous tips may be submitted to Marshall County Crime Stoppers by calling 641.753.1234, via text by texting the word “marshall” followed by the tip to CRIMES (274637), or online at Information leading to an arrest could earn a reward of up to $1,000.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are assisting the Marshalltown Police Department with this investigation.
