At the March 26th City Council meeting, the Marshalltown City Council considered a plan to address sidewalks, a high priority identified in the 2018 Strategic Plan. City Administrator Jessica Kinser broke the topic of sidewalks into three areas which staff will begin working on: updating rules and regulations, identifying and prioritizing sidewalk gaps, and beginning to asses existing sidewalk condition by ward.
As part of identifying sidewalk gaps, the City is asking for the public's assistance. A page dedicated to Sidewalks has been created on the City's website and can be accessed by clicking here, and contains a form for people to submit the sidewalk gaps they know about.
More information related to the three areas related to sidewalks will continue to be discussed by the City Council during upcoming meetings. Please visit the Agenda Centerfor the latest City Council agenda.
