The Iowa River Trail includes 34 miles of former rail line stretching from Marshalltown to Steamboat Rock in Hardin County. The City of Marshalltown is an active partner in the trail project. Final Master Plan Documents Released
The Marshalltown City Council accepted the following documents, created by RDG with input from many individuals and organizations, at the February 10th City Council meeting:

RDG Planning & Design selected to complete the Placemaking Plan
RDG Planning & Design was selected to complete the Iowa River Trail Placemaking Master Plan. They are working with a dedicated advisory committee represented by the City of Marshalltown and the two trail organizations in Marshall and Hardin county.
Martha-Ellen Tye Foundation grant awarded.
The Martha-Ellen Tye Foundation has awarded up to an additional $50,000 to support the Iowa River Trail Master Plan project. This additional funding will support more detailed conceptual plans at identified locations along the trail.
National Endowment for the Arts - Our Town Grant Program
